Trim the length to fit your mouth. We send them out extra long on purpose -Everybody has different sized mouths. Even with a cut edge, they will hold together depending on your level of grinding. The "Reinforcement Add-on" adds extra stitches down the length of the piece, so that even after trimming, there is stitching to help keep the weave together longer. Our Double Layer pieces come with reinforcement stitching.

Optionally trim the front corners if you have a narrower mouth, BUT NOT BELOW THE STITCHING! Note that the piece will feel bulky at first, but soften with wear. It may feel as you need to trim it initially, but not after wearing for a night. The plant fibers will imprint your teeth and gently form around them. Strings will come loose here and there with wear. This is normal, simply trim them off and carry on.

Slide the tabs horizontally between your upper and lower teeth. Wet before wear for added comfort. With wear, the strips will form to your teeth, creating custom mould. Rinse after each wear and pour some boiling water over the guard. Let sit for a minute and lay out or hang to dry. Place in direct sunlight for extra sanitization. Once per week soak in vinegar for a few minutes for a deep clean.
